Transit Gateway Attachment
Transit Gateway attachments are the connections between your Transit Gateway and other network components. These attachments allow you to route traffic seamlessly between your VPCs, on-premises networks, and other resources.
Types of Transit Gateway Attachments
VPC Attachments:
- Connect one or more VPCs to your Transit Gateway.
- Require at least one subnet per Availability Zone to enable traffic routing.
- Allow communication between VPCs, on-premises networks, and other resources attached to the Transit Gateway.
VPN Attachments:
- Connect your on-premises networks to your Transit Gateway using VPN connections.
- Enable secure, encrypted communication between on-premises and cloud resources.
Direct Connect Gateway Attachments:
- Connect your on-premises networks to your Transit Gateway using AWS Direct Connect.
- Provide a high-performance, private connection between your on-premises network and AWS.
Peering Attachments:
- Connect two Transit Gateways together to create a peer-to-peer connection.
- Enable traffic routing between resources connected to different Transit Gateways.
Connect Attachments:
- Connect AWS Global Accelerator accelerators to your Transit Gateway.
- Improve the performance and reliability of your global applications.
